Umm Idris is a stay-at-home mother who often self-reflects about her life at night over a hot cup of tea. Whenever she finds ambiguity in her life experiences, she becomes heavily invested in dissecting them to understand them better. Believing in finding answers by questioning and exploring things that happen, she hopes that sharing it with the world will help her find some clarity in such muddy waters.
Just when we Muslimahs reach the stage of marriage, we face the age-old dilemma of every woman our age encounters. The right of passage to the path of marital bliss is hindered by daunting task of finding the perfect man for us. And so we ask ourselves: how do you even find the fella?
What a messed up world we live in. Where a person can justify heinous crimes against humanity and be celebrated or pardoned. Where is the line between mercy and vindication? Amidst the debris of the crumbling ethics of our society, she calls for accountability from childhood.
When the heart is overcome with disease, the darkness spreads slowly and sporadically. As the soul fights against the infestations slowly draining the host’s deen and wearing down their iman, the light of repentance dims.
There is little ambiguity in recognising moments where we lack gratitude. Rather, it is the arrogance of ignorance in retaliation against humility. There is a lack of realisation that there is always something to be grateful for.
